Flip side to this shit ticket is it might encourage more buying British which is better for the environment, local economy, employment and whatnot. I've been getting into taking a bit more care of where my meat comes from lately. I trust our farmers here to do a good job by our standards in the main. The animals have a decent life, well fed etc. When you look at the packets in the supermarket you often see it comes from selected EU countries but that's all the info you get. One I saw today said it used chicken from the EU and South America. Why is chicken traveling to here from South America? That can't be right. Buying local makes sense in so many ways.
Any chance of some manufacturing coming back on a decent scale?
We'll be like one big happy hippy commune.

With the UK’s massive trade deficit with the EU, tariffs would if anything encourage more companies to set up shop here rather than vice versa. I’d bet VW etc would be scrambling to build assembly plants to serve the UK market in the event of ‘no deal’.

Lofty...genuine question and I am just trying to understand, what is your issue with lefty politics? It's not the politics as such is the gobshites who seem to be the spokespersons for the good of the left...Owen Jones, Ash Sarker, Terry Christian, David Lammy etc who just make me laugh. Anyone who is not a batshit mental lefty loon is a far right Nazi in their eyes. I could get behind the lefties if it were credible people willing to discuss the pros and cons instead of what we've seen which is simply - Labour and Corbyn good and Tories and Boris racist and bad.

There’s a lot of people in politics who lack the self awareness to realise they are damaging for their own side but those on the left seem particularly condescending and obnoxious.

I wouldn’t put Terry Christian down as a lefty. Maybe he thinks he is, I don’t know. But his constant desire that all Brexit fans be slung on the dole heap for life isn’t what I’d call left wing. He’s a fucking idiot.

Fuck off Ade you remoaning cun*t GEt bRexIT dOnE All slogans in politics can get to fuck. They’re all dull and unimaginative for a start but mainly it’s essentially politicians saying we’re all a bit thick and we’ve only got the mental capacity to store a short, repeated mantra and only then if they repeated several hundred times. Actually, they might have a point thinking about it.

What worries me is that now that it has worked so well, I’d expect it to get worse, why wouldn’t they?

One thing I think we can all agree on, leavers and remainers alike, is that Mark Francois is a cunt.

What’s the score with this now that we’ve literally done nothing about it for half a year?
