Having seen Hobhead's take in the season ticket scenario what are people's views on the new pricing policy and it's timing?
Personally although I'm happy that they have kept prices very low the deadlines really rankle with me. It used to be the scenario where tickets would be say £300 and the early bird deal would get you it for say £200. This isn't the case now. We are actively advertising this £149 where in reality it's only that price for a month. I like to pay for my tickets upfront so I don't do monthly options. I've applauded the cheap ticket initiative since it's been going but I believe the club are shooting themselves in the foot with their current deal. Shame as it wouldn't take much tinkering to make their target almost achievable.

Given how we've sold them in previous seasons it's a massive change of policy. It's gone from having all summer to stump up to having a month to do it.
It's obvious why they've done it and they'll remember last season where most waited until right at the end of the deadline to buy. I can see why they've gone down this route but feel they should've given more time for the first deadline. Even if they'd announced earlier in the season that there would be a short initial window it would've allowed people more time to plan for it.

It was very short notice, I must admit.

It's a colossal bollock. What they've effectively done is give me, and many others, one pay cheque to get their season ticket with before penalties are incurred. It's highly unlikely I'll be able to get mine this deadline and if I can't the next I'll just fuck it off.
I hate to compare football to a business but when you've got willing customers who want to buy what you're selling it's not a good marketing technique to hold them to ransom by saying buy it now or face ever stiffer penalties. At least not in the timeframe we're talking about here. Penalise tot customers too much and they'll simply walk away from a purchase they'd otherwise have been delighted to make.
Now for the controversial part. Most are surmising (quite logically) that these new, tighter deadlines are to allow budgets to be set early for next season. How is it that these new, apparently much richer owners are more risk-averse than the comparatively dirt poor Lawn and Rhodes when it comes to season ticket sales and budget setting? How could they (Lawn & Rhodes) afford us more time to purchase at the lower rate than two guys who've openly and repeatedly told us that 'money is there'? If it's all about budgets, why not set a realistic one now ( based on 17,000 sold say), guarantee it yourselves and then go all out to beat the target by keeping it low for as long as you feasibly can? After all, should we fall short, 'money is there'.

I can understand the thinking, we're up near the top, we're playing (allegedly) attacking attractive football and there's the chance of Championship footie next season. Hook people in now before the season fizzles out and floaters/newbies lose interest.
That said giving people a month to commit isn't really considerate given differing financial situations and considering the Germans are rich why the rush to get a budget set, I'd have hoped they were using their own dosh.
Anyway I'm rich as fuck and an uber fan so I've already renewed mine.

I'm happy with the deal, but that's because I'm fortunate to earn a good wage so I can find the 149 quid without too much notice. I appreciate many others aren't in the same position.
They're clearly looking to go into the summer with a clear idea of revenue, which shows a bit of forward thinking. But they should have allowed a bit longer before the price hikes kick in

I need to wait and see a bit before buying. I want one and I'll more than likely get one, I'd just like a bit more wiggle room which I'd obviously normally get. The £149 window is too short and is only one pay day long. I'll see what I can rustle up but if I get hit with some whoppers I'll pass on the season ticket. Such is life.
