Hello I am Ipswich Town fan who has recently begun a blog on substack, writing weekly articles about the EFL. This week I have focussed on Bradford City's season so far, as well as the club's recent history and potential future prospects. I've linked the article below. Any subscriptions would be appreciated, it's free and all the articles will land in your email inbox. Similarly, I'm happy to take pointers because you'll know more about your club than I do. I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the article and the club's future. Are you confident of making it fourth time lucky and finally getting back up to League One? I had a little read around here and the other Bradford forum on here and it seems not everybody is totally sold on Hughes. Hope you enjoy. Jacob jacobpowley.substack.com/

'the generous resources made available to the Welshman by owner Stefan Rupp' Maybe research this a bit further.. As we know last year was the first since 2017 where we improved the previous season's league finish, and even then it was just a position or two. Also, a lot of transfer activity this season was funded by selling that kid to Brighton, £250k I think? Also the young keeper we sold to Leeds, but that was a bit before. The grumblings against Rupp have quietened down for now, but that's because we're actually doing better in terms of results. A lot of fans though think we're too cautious, we don't get out of second gear and a lot of our results have been laboured, and fear it could be our our big weakness if we do have to go into the last few games needing to attack, or in the situation of a play-off game where at some point you may have to go for it. In the few months before Hughes was appointed, almost every home game you would hear 'Stefan Rupp, get out of our club' chants. Fans mostly are content for now, as the results aren't terrible, but I don't think the majority will be lauding Rupp, even if we do go up. He's been a quiet, almost absent owner for most of the last 7 years and while I get it is just a business he owns to him and I don't expect him to be joining in singing Midland Road with the fans, he doesn't seem to have any plan or ambition for what he wants from the club. It's like apart from the odd business related statement he has no enthusiasm for us.

I've edited that part, I've still mentioned the budget as it's one of the largest in the division but I've removed Rupp's name from the sentence.

Bradford's a shit-hole. League 2 is a pride swallowing and soul destroying environment filled with awful football, the worst officials you'll ever see and more dark arts than a soho lapdancing joint. Despite often failing to register a single shot on target, the division is so god-awful that we're somehow in with a shot of top 3 and if we go up, our ongoing and amateurish attempts to break out of this farce of a league must never be spoken of again, let alone published.
