Rightly or wrongly and personally I’m not really fussed either way, there’s no way that we’ll appoint Evans.

Hughes has two things to sort out. That midfield and whether he goes with one or two upfront. No point in bringing Darbyshire to the club if we persist with one up top and if he doesn't fancy Cook then let him go. And with East clearly being another he doesn't fancy then for shites sake bring another central midfielder in. He does that we have a good chance of promotion. Whether he does remains to be seen.

The run of away victories skewed our league position. Comparatively we are poor at home - yet again. We don't know how to play in a way to try and dominate or overwhelm opponents at all.
MH has the players to challenge for a play off spot but over halfway through the season they can never seem to get out of second gear in matches.
We said before the season lack of creativity & goals would be our weakness and we were correct. It's not a case of winning 6-0 either - we either don't finish opponents off if we go behind we don't know what to do.
He has the players to be in the play offs but creatively doesn't know what to do with them.

Just had a quick look at some out of favour midfielders in League 1 and there’s Conor McGrandles at Charlton, Harry Charsley at Port Vale, Alex Gorrin at Oxford and Dominic Gape at Wycombe.
Some more realistic than others but the fact is they’ll all be better than Gilliead immediately

Gape would be an apt signing considering how much we've been bummed this season.

Looks like I've been way too slow, just like our midfield.

Saw this on the other board. Have to admit, it's a decent observation -
"Never thought I’d be saying this, but I’m starting to see a different side to Hughes from the nice and friendly older Manager, speaking well and looking like he’s going to be a big asset to Bradford City. To now - mouthing off at the Stockport Fans, pushing opposing players, falling out with ours - Young, not playing ours - Cook, lying (saying Oliver’s better than Cook), constantly bringing boring gutless football game plans….. the list goes on. I think this is a man who is losing a grip of the playoffs and we’ll soon be mid table. No manager is bigger than the club, start seeing the bigger picture Hughes and do what we are playing you to do! Manage (well) and WIN!"
The worry a lot of us had was could Hughes' ego get the better of him, dropping to L2 and swinging his dick amongst these carthorses. But last season he seemed to instil calmness and composure, protected the players, backed them and seemed to say things that went down well with fans even though we weren't winning games.
I wonder at what point some of his behaviour will be labelled as arrogance? If he can back up being a dong with results, and performances as well then it's great and he's a hero. But when it's not working it seems to be the 'look at me' show. People will say, 'yeh it's shithousing, great to see, you all wanted Steve Evans and he would have brought that' etc. Thing is, we're in an okay but not great position and if we fall down the table playing the way we are MH will get the flak.
The Bola for Foulds swap has to work, especially after MH's words about him. That was very unlike Hughes and more something Derek Adams would have done. If it doesn't work it's a black mark against him for sure.

Anyone who thought he was a nice friendly manager hadn't been paying attention. He was a throbber at Blackburn and a throbber at Stoke and a throbber at Southampton. Especially when he was losing.
Now I don't mind that to an extent, but if you're going to be a dick you need to back it up with results. He's come in thinking League Two will be a piece of piss and he'll be a hero for fixing the club, and it's not a piece of piss and his ego can't cope.

Friendly was probably not the right term thinking about it., but certainly compared to Adams he was saying the right things at the time to lift a deflated team and fanbase. It's been a while but I hope he doesn't show off any more tricks when he's in the dugout. Once / twice was fine but any more and it stinks of ego.

The man is a walking ego. When he's winning it's all smiles because he's a genius. When he's losing it's all someone else's fault and he's a dick. He's always been like this as a manager. His meltdowns at Stoke were epic.
