Are they going down?
Might sound ridiculous but fuck me they are poor all over. They’ve been well beaten by Brighton and are surrendering meekly now to Brentford. Ronaldo could well go on strike to agitate a move and with him goes their goals.
They’re fucked and it’s glorious.

Is everyone aware that Martinez is quite short? If not, the commentators will occasionally let you know.

Rapey Ronaldo has gone on strike, his fault for the first goal, stood still for their third. Other than sarcastically clapping de Gea he's done piss all.
Long may it continue. I hate the fuckers.

What makes this better is the piss they took out of Liverpool and Man City during their glory years and now its them 2 teams winning everything while they look in the worst shape they have since the aftermath of 58

They're fundamentally broken. Relegation is a real possibility. Devoid of talent and leadership, a new manager with a new philosophy that's completely at odds with the squad he's inherited, fractured fan base, awful owners, incompetent club structure. They can't even shit house their way to point like Burnley used to do. They're fucked.

I've got a foreign cousin who is the biggest armchair fan you could imagine. One time he smashed up the local supporters club after they lost badly and was banned. Another he had to be restrained from attacking another cousin who was taking the piss after a defeat - rightfully - this Man U cousin is the sort that has the biggest flag pole in the village with the biggest Man U flag on, he drives around honking his horn after games, absolute knobhead. And he's a police officer... I'm loving the meltdowns he's having ATM
This is what they get for killing the game with relentless global marketing and branding and not moving with the times of actual football - they're now the Love Island / crap influencer of football. Players who are probably more interested in haircuts and promoting the fat-loss laxatives.
When was it when one of the Glazers said it doesn't matter if they win trophies as they'll still be the richest and make more money than anyone else, about 12 years ago? Does that still apply if they continue to be as bad as they are?
The biggest single problem they have that translates to shocking performances and results is that everyone at the club - and the fans - just seem to hate each other. When the had rot in the past the source of it would be quickly removed, now its all over.

Back in the day, Ferguson was happy to bin off any big name who got too big for their boots- Ince, Stam, Beckham. There's nobody there now who has the balls to do it. Rapey Ronaldo is clearly the issue but he sells merchandise so they tolerate him.
It's wonderful to watch.

After losing to the powerhouses of Brighton and Brentford you just want to put that behind you and focus on the next game, ah that would be Liverpool, fantastic.

That's the thing, the one advantage they've had up until the last couple of years was the colossal worldwide marketing power. Now the others have caught up and are actually overtaking them in that department it's not the weapon it used to be for them Ferguson would have bombed Ronaldo out the second he didn't like the look of him, shirt sales in that regard meant zilch to him. You wonder how many mangers since Fergie have been told the have to feature player X in the first team because of the marketing pull and just put up with it.

You see the absolutely weapons like Goldbridge, Howson and Mckola on their YouTube channels and you just know that they spent the first 15 - 20 years of their lives lauding it up over everyone and being totally insufferable Twats because they didn’t know anything other than success and now they’re getting what’s been coming to them and it’s glorious. Oh and if I hear Gary Neville say one more time that they need to spend more money I think that my foot will go through the television. Yes the owners are a huge problem but that’s because they have no idea how to run a football club and have appointed people into roles which they can’t do, not because they don’t spend money. They still outspend everyone else ffs and if they were winning then you wouldn’t hear a peep out of Neville and Co.

Neville is a hypocrite. Carragher is right- Neville is beating the 'Glazer Out' drum at every opportunity now, but said nothing when he was on the payroll. Same with other ex players.

As crap as Man Utd are, come this time next week if Man Utd somehow managed to beat Liverpool they would actually be above Liverpool. The Man City cakewalk is in full flow.

Still Everton fans would have been happy if you told them they would be a point behind Liverpool after 3 games. I doubt they would have expected to only have 1 point on that basis though.

Liverpool looked a mess last night. They're in need of a rebuild I think. The midfield, all of a sudden, looks slow and ponderous. Van Dijk doesn't look right and I didn't realise he was 31. Alexander-Arnold is a fabulous player on the ball, but can't really defend. They've clearly been a fabulous team, but it looks in need of a real refresh.
Could be a huge win for United in terms of getting them going under Ten Hag. They looked much better without Maguire and Ronaldo. I could see both leaving before the end of the window.
