Very much a ‘meh’ signing for me. He’s alright and seems to be a good lad but we look to be building an underwhelming unit in central midfield. In Songo’o, the Swindon reserve and Sutton we’ve got three of a likely four berth filled and it doesn’t exactly scream promotion.
In short, Sutton’s alright but in the wider context of the team and our supposed aims it’s not the most exciting bit of news.

People rejoicing on social media. Apart from what Hob has said, I can't see what else this offers. The incoming from tomorrow have to be of a higher standard otherwise we ain't goibg anywhere.
I don't get why there is so much clamour for players to re-sign who have been part of failing sides for years. Seems you just have to run about a bit or pass clumsy tackles off as not shirking from challenges.

Don’t mind the signing in isolation but atm we seem to be building a squad full of cheap, decent backups. Need some proven quality in soon.

We hear that last sentence every year when we’re making signings and we always end up waiting for them to arrive. Platt looks like a first teamer with Paudie off, and arguably Young might have been signed for the first team. After that it’s filler. We’ve also offered too many contracts to players of a level we ought to be confident of improving on. After a promising start we look to be reverting to type.

Can only agree with what has been said above. Another decent squad player but we desperately lack quality throughout.
The only ones that I wanted to keep were POC, Watt and Vernam and even if they stay then we need four or five extra quality signings. Without those three staying then we suddenly need seven or eight quality signings which I just can’t see happening.

Players like Sutton are lauded because you can see they give it everything but talent has to come into it and he is very limited that way. If we are serious about promotion all these signings bar Walker should be fighting to get on the bench let alone the starting 11. While I like us doing all our business early surely we've got to have a lot better players lined up.

I know we're all miserable cunts but you'd hope when contracts are up, the season finally finishes and players come back from holiday the levels of signings will improve. It has to.

Needs to be surrounded by actual talent if he's going to be starting, so he can get stuck in and the flairy cunt can play a nice ball. Meh

If he couldn't nail a spot in a shit team last season why will he in what's supposed to be a much improved one? I like the lad, seems a good guy and he's a grafter but he's a squad filler at best.
You've just got to hope the best is yet to come in which case he's a handy squad player to have but if he's the main man then it's "meh".

Why would a squad player in League Two turn down offers from League One? Looking more and more like he’s been given first team assurances to me.

I like Sutton, good engine in him, doesn't mind having a bang at goal, puts his foot in. Think we'd have been a better team if he'd played more. There you go, don't @ me.

So farewell Levi Sutton. Think this thread is a fair assessment of his time at the club. I don’t mind admitting I voted ‘meh’ when he resigned, but I genuinely liked him as a player. Fully aware of his limitations, and watched him more in hope than expectation, he was a player I never felt went through the motions, and that counts for something. Good luck to the lad.

Reading my opening post about the midfield we’d built and of the three mentioned two are gone by January and the third never gets a game and looks to have been replaced by an octogenarian plodder.
I’m tired of the people in charge of this club failing to see the glaringly fucking obvious.

Thank fuck for that, what a terrible player he was.
The very epitome of a gomper's player. Fuck all ability wise but rated because he ran around like a headless chicken.

Not good enough for a midfield looking to gain promotion.

I quite liked him and sad to see him go. Lots and people saying he just ran his arse off, but he did offer something until Delboy thoroughly fucked all of that out of him and turned him totally gunshy. I felt quite bad for him when I saw him play after Del had buggered off. Never kept the ball for more than a second, almost like he didn't want to be at fault for losing it.
Anyway, farewell Levi, another player Bradford City fucked, mindraped and ran out of town.
