So i've just been looking jealously at Tottenham's new stadium taking shape and it got me thinking about Valley Parade. I know we don't have 800 million quid spare for hot water in the bogs or paint for the steelwork but if we keep an upward trajectory i wonder if the clubs owners have any plans to redevelop or even tart the old girl up a bit. The Bradford end is quite frankly fucking embarrassing and the old club offices in the corner have been there longer than i've been alive. Also the conference and corporate facilities are poor, not good enough or big enough for championship football. I would love to see us do something with the stadium that actually makes it looks finished and not kids lego model that ran out of lego.

I found these original plans from the Richmond era on my phone. No idea where I got them from: Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedShows what can be done by closing the bottom of Valley Parade. Doesn't show a great improvement in the Bradford End though.

I know it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things but I'd like the seats to be repainted. It would make the stadium look fantastic. Some of the Amber ones look for white than Amber. It wouldn't cost much either.

It's my understanding that Gibb has agreed to sell the ground back for around 4million. This is why the season tickets were done early so they knew the finances before committing to the deal. And they will be sorting out all the facilities in every stand as part of the upgrading in the summer

I found these original plans from the Richmond era on my phone. No idea where I got them from: I remember seeing them years ago, i also remember the club had plans in the eighties to put a double tiered stand on the midland road. I was looking around the suites at the awards do and it's really shoddy. I love being at Valley Parade but the old girl desperately needs money spending on her.

A lot of the seats at VP are just about beyond repair, one i was sat in fell to bits in the Bradford end a couple of years ago.

Same bloke as usual, Gibb was never gonna sell it back whilst Rhodes was involved. He's now more than happy to sell it back but has had to convince the pension fund to sell.

Why would the pension fund sell such a steady earner?

As much as i would like to claim it was my fat arse, the metal bars underneath had rusted away at the joints. There were a few like that.

Why would the pension fund sell such a steady earner? Agree. It's the closest thing to a sure fire earner you're going to get.

Isn't there always the (unlikely) threat that we could just fuck off and leave them with a load of steel in the middle of Manningham? At some point cashing in with their already tidy profit may be an attractive proposition.

Why would the pension fund sell such a steady earner? I'm pretty sure at the time it was in the deal that the club could buy the ground back after 5 years for a set price. I'm sure that was rumoured to be around 5 million so anything less would need to be agreed on
