So, thought it might be time to give this a bump. Very strange Indeed but not at all surprising. Worryingly have seen Hughes name mentioned as a possible haven for him multiple times on twitter, which is ridiculous in itself but there you go. It didn't sound right from the outset and now it's probably the nightmare scenario for Man U. What are people's thoughts?

Without going down the twitter justice mentality and looking at the whole thing as neutral... It's one of those very murky ones, like Ched Evans when he was released. Greenwood is much more higher profile and more people would have seen the video, audio etc... Unfortunately I think it's one of those where a super rich individual and a mega rich, ultra powerful organisation (Man Utd) have been able to worm their way out of it for 'reasons'. The kind of reasons that plebs like us could never comprehend. He'll probably go to some super rich team in the Middle East or China, where they hate women anyway so would welcome him with open arms.

I’d have him here in a shot. He’s been investigated and charges dropped. None of us know exactly what happened, and trial by the court of public opinion never leads anywhere good.

Sounds very much like the girl has been bought off/frightened off (and looking at what happened to Ched Evans' victim, who can blame her) and basically if you don't have the main witness then you don't have a case. Happens all the time in lesser domestic violence cases too.
A shame as it means yet another wrong 'un gets away with it, but football's full of wrong 'uns who get away with it. Look at Rapey Ronaldo, Giggs, Luke McCormick, Lee Hughes, Mendy.

You’ve got to love a happy ending: Fucking cunts. After everything they should be doing their most to stay out of the spotlight. But nah, more money, more clout, more attention, more celeb status. It's what these goblins crave.

So has she gone back to a man that raped her or has he impregnated a woman who falsely accused her of rape?
This whole, tawdry debacle stinks to high heaven.

This happens all the time in domestic violence cases, there's a reason why they're so hard to prosecute. By all accounts she withdrew everything early on but policy now is to try and prosecute regardless, precisely because it happens so often.

To me that looks like paying lip service to the idea of increasing prosecution rates. Without the co-operation of your key, and likely only, witness the case is dead in the water.

Courts have been trying initiatives to get the conviction rate up in things like grooming cases as the only witness is usually unreliable due to their vulnerability, problem is this case has done nothing to help that. Seemed very strange from the beginning, the photo of the blood from the small graze on her lip had my spidey senses tingling. So as it stands Greenwood isn't a rapist after all, lad just pointing out his cock won't suck itself.

Definitely, with politicians demanding to be seen to be doing something and putting pressure on the CPS. You don’t always need the victim to give evidence though, if they were hospitalised etc. Case of damned either way, if they’d pulled it early then they’d have been slagged off too. I obviously have no idea about this case but I’ve seen it a lot professionally where the victim will believe all the promises it won’t happen again and withdraw everything, even though it was true, especially with pregnancy or kids involved.

I genuinely believe Man United released the update on getting rid of him today as they knew the Lucy Letby verdict was due to land a few hours before, and that story would dominate all the headlines.
