Trial by the right authorities and not social media is the right way to go for many reasons. There could be all kinds of rules for how evidence is gathered / presented - and when cases are built no one wants to risk jeopardising anything. Like it or not things have to be done the correct way. A distant relative of mine is a criminal lawyer in a EU country which is known for being somewhat corrupt as a genralisation, the point is he's an expert in making sure celebrities, politicians etc can get out of all kinds of charges on all sorts of technicalities. His family idolise him but he's in a very unsavoury circle. I bet he's fucking minted too.

I'd rather not say the country just as it could reveal who I am if someone - say at the club - looked hard enough and worked it out. He's proper dodgy - even managed to help get an ex-prime minister (it's not a huge country) off the hook for fraud charges on a tecnicality. Wouldn't be surprised if they found him 'suicided' one day.

Cristiano Ronaldo, according to Der Spiegel, rapes a woman up the arse and nobody cares.
Funny how these things go, isn't it.

The transcript was bad enough but actually hearing the anger and hatred in the voice is horrifying.
The worst thing is it’s a daily occurrence behind closed doors in every city, town and village- the only reason it’s newsworthy is the fact it’s a footballer. Tragically there’d not be the same outcry if it was Mason the carpet-tiler.

It seems a lot of the 'two sides to every story' mob seem to come from foreign climbes where Man United has big followings - some of which are known somewhat for their dismal attitudes towards women.

Horrible accusation, but its just that. No evidence that I've ever seen. And false rape accusations do happen, for different reasons. And I'd imagine that high profile and rich men are easy targets for such. Ched Evans was a sordid encounter, but more than enough doubt to suggest he should ever have been found guilty of rape. Which is why his convinction was over turned.

Weird how he talks about knowing him since the under 21's, describing it in football terms rather than on a personal level. Just an observation, not making any accusations or anything.

Just an observation, not making any accusations or anything. That statement is worrying in its own right. I've read it a few times now and still can't put a context on it. Almost like the girl herself hasn't made the complaint.

Are things not quite as they seem here? Something doesn't add up. The time line of the footage suggests it's months old. Not that particularly unique, but reading that statement suggests the family knew of a rocky relationship. Who knows?

Can't fall the girl for it. Its mad the way they brainwash them. Some get away with knocking them for life and others get away with it until they go one step too far. Absolute cunts regardless of how long it goes on.
On the subject of Greenwood I had heard he was a cunt but put it down to being 20 years old, minted and playing for the biggest brand in Football. Turns out he's a cunt of the highest order.

How do these type of cases work in practice? Does the victim have to make a complaint in order for the police to prosecute, or can they prosecute just on the evidence and interviews with her alone, without her agreeing to it? I expect we all can imagine lots of stuff going on behind the scenes, if it needs her to agree to prosecute, obviously without going into specifics.
With the amount of money and legal power he'll have access to, because Man Utd will be supporting him I bet, regardless of what he's been accused of. It's going to be very traumatic for the victim if it ends up before a court. His barrister will be throwing everything at her to try and get him off. If he does get off (and it wouldn't surprise me if he does. Regardless of if he's actually guilty or not and I haven't heard the recordings). I don't see how Man Utd can then bin him? He'll get plenty of abuse from both home and away fans and he'll probably never get to play for England again, but I don't think it'll be the end of his career. Football is ultimately a morally filthy business, especially for a very good young talent worth many millions.

No the alleged victim doesn't have to make a compliant.
Ched Evans case being an example - the woman involved made no complaint of rape. She said she didn't recall the incident (due to being intoxicated).

She said she didn't recall the incident (due to being intoxicated). She was unfortunate it was Ched Evans.and not the sloth Andy Cook. He'd still be taking his shoes off and she would have sobered up and gone home.
