I'm not sure what to make of this. My gut feeling is its just more theatre to appease the mob.
As a Bradfordian, i don't really give a fuck as YCCC has pretty much abandoned Park Ave whilst £££££s get spent on Headingley. A bit off topic, but wasn't £millions earmarked to redevelop Park Ave but nothing materialised other than some practice nets?

By the language used by Ballance Rafiq clearly has a problem with it although it's clear the whole context hasn't been released. I mean, there's a piece in the Daily hate mail where an ex wicket keeper is claiming players were throwing the ball too hard at his gloves and linking it to his racial background. To say Ballance had top school education he's plainly dumb of he didn't think what he thought was Banter would be used against him by a disgruntled teammate.

It does seem very OTT, especially banning internationals at Headingley. A lot of the furore seems to be conjecture and allegations rather than hard facts, imo. Due to the ongoing tribunal and ECB investigation, it does seem inappropriate that the whole thing is being played out in the media. The whole 'parliamentary hearing' thing seem more theatre rather than due process. Surely any punitive sanctions should be applied after the tribunal hearing/ ECB investigation? It all seems convoluted and back to front.

If only they knew the shit that went on in the real world, I have mate who works down at the crown court and has to sit in the trials as part of his job. Wether something is perceived as banter pales into petty insignificance compared to what goes on at every crown court in the country every day.

I’m surprised that YCCC thought they’d get away with not taking any action. Regardless of the fact that these things are more usually nuanced than played out in the press, the optics of it are dreadful, there’s no way anyone was going to accept it was just banter, nothing to see here.

Rafiq is bitter at losing his contract and has properly smashed the race card. Clearly the stuff he was saying to Ballance- who he called "Zimbo the African"- was just as bad, and was clearly two friends creating offensive nicknames for each other. But good luck making that argument in the current climate.
Rafiq's been allowed to dictate the story, even though he has clearly just made shit up about people like Vaughan. None of the *three* British Asians on the panel believed anything Rafiq said.
YCCC are stupid for letting it get this far. Some senior execs were criticised for not dealing with this nonsense years ago, and they've got their knickers in a wad and threatened to sue if the full report is released. The Chairman, who wanted to release it in full, has gone. As have all their sponsors. But the execs to blame for this are still there.

Man complains about racism. Turns out he's also racist, and said racist things ten years ago on social media. He's sorry, so that's OK. The coach he got suspended because of a single comment on social media was also sorry, but that's not OK. Fuck knows what the difference is. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59338118I know I'm getting old, but I just want to stop the world and get off. The whole place is fucked.

I thought anti semitism trumped racism in the hierachy of fake outrage. Guess i was wrong.

Peterson is wasted on shows like this, the panel lack the intelligence to debate with him properly. As soon as he questioned the term 'racism' they shit themselves and go into shutdown mode. The point he was trying to make went over their heads and was indicative of the folls that frequent that panel.

The quality of any argument or debate will always descend down to the lowest point of intellect in the room. Hes wasted on that group. The man's a genius. I remember getting into his material about 4 years ago and he captivated me with his analysis of how woke, identity politics would lead us to the madness we're now seeing - and worse
