We need a goal and he takes off our only player who can score and brings on another player who never scores Or taking off a striker who is regularly missing what are pretty easy chances. Problem is when Cook is firing blanks no one else offers a goal threat. How the fuck can we be weaker in the striking department than last season? Fucking joke.

But who is going to score the goals? Rupp needs to put some proper money in, or he needs to fuck off and sell to someone who will. Nothing will change with our absentee owner. As long as we’re on tickover and he doesn’t need to commit he can be a silent partner just hanging on in the hope someone makes him an offer that matches his asking price. And as long as he owns us nobody will match his asking price because it ludicrous. We’re in limbo for the foreseeable future.

Quick note on Robinson. From the little I’ve seen of him so far I can see why the Port Vale fans wanted rid so badly - he looks utterly clueless.

We're just shit. New CEO, New Manager, New Recruitment guy, new squad, new commercial manager, new dugout, new seats, new sponsors. Forget it. Just a different shade of the same shite.

Everyone could see when we signed them that Lavery and Robinson weren’t good enough. What the fuck were we doing?
I’ve been worried about our cover at CB too although Kelleher did ok today.
There you have it. Issues in both boxes.

There you have it. Issues in both boxes. I thought Kelleher did well, looked solid enough. If you don't score in this league you're in trouble and we're putting too much reliance on one man. I see people on Twitter calling for 442 but who would you play up top with Cook? Both shite.

I wonder if signing strikers who had better records than the odd deflected goal every other season might have helped.

Cook should be at least on a goal a game with the chances he's had. The fact he isn't underlines our current position. Couple that with the lack of goals from anyone else in the team and this could be one long season. Seems like the fans enthusiasm is receeding already.

Goals is key, obviously.
Looking at the squad I think we've got fair cover in every area apart from striker. Wasted 2 wages on a pair of nose pickers who won't score 5 between them all season.

Anybody surprised though? Strikers are the hardest players to find and the most expensive to sign. Our mickey mouse recruitment setup, tight arsed owner and 'self sufficient' obsessed ceo is a recipe for disaster when it comes to recruiting proven quality. Signings like Lavery and Robinson whilst appointing a manager who is half decent at polishing a turd is about what we can expect. In other words, buy a load of misfits and hope for the best.
Promotion? Haha fuck off.

If we could drive the percentage contribution to wages down far enough it’s pretty hard to believe we couldn’t have done better that Lavery and Robinson.

Problem is our reputation for handling loanees is probably in the toilet given what happened with the likes of jigsaw, Stevens and burrell last year.

Huddersfield and Leeds on our doorstep have belting academies. We shouldn't struggle.
