As far as Adams’ budget-related carping goes, we’ve upped season ticket prices and sold more than expected, we’ve apparently hugely increased commercial income and we’ve got shut of all the players on Rahic money. Income is up and outgoings are down and we’re still crying the poor tale. Of the players we’ve got now who is likely to be on a fatter than average contract? Cook? Evans maybe? Vernam? Where’s the budget gone? Haven't we only got a £2 million budget? Deosn't go very far. Which makes freezing out the kids even more bewildering. Instead of wasting valuable budget on players like Kelleher and loaning out Staunton we should be squeezing everything we can out of every quid to get as strong a first team squad as we can. If we need squad players let’s use the kids. Instead we’ve spent money on players we’d best hope we don’t need to use. We seem to be complaining we don’t have much money while wasting money.

I said it last season, scales FCD and sikora have had their decent moments but right now they're not league standard. The gompers get carried away and as usual overhype our kids just because they're the best of a bad bunch. Staunton is a curious case, looked at home in some games and the novice he is in others. Got to wonder if this injury he had was a lot worse than we were told

I'd hope it's Adams playing games, either with Sparks and Rupp or to stop other clubs adding a 0 on the end when we ask.
But I think we are skint. Thanks Rupp.

I'd say over half the clubs in the division have a budget comparable with that. You are right its how you spend it, Adams got Morecambe promoted with the lowest budget in the football league but generally the bigger budget the more chance you have of success.

Until we're owned by proper business people and proper football people we will have to get used to this. Rahic has made sure if that by proving to the bantamsfamily that spending a lot of money is bad.

Sparks made some comment on the radio the other night too about having to extend the budget to get Robinson in! Very worrying indeed. As others have said, where has it gone? And what the fuck happens in January when we realise that shite like Kelleher needs replacing?

What the fuck are we playing at with Staunton? Absolutely baffling. We’ve got Canavani and Pawdz. Then what? The only one left who’s good enough is our Reece. Local lad, you know

And what the fuck happens in January when we realise that shite like Kelleher needs replacing? Something doesn't add up. I'm sure i remember Sparks saying their was 'money in the pot' a few weeks back when he was a guest on DMac's podcast. It was "we're a big club therefore we can attract good players without paying over the odds" when pushing ST sales and selling shirts. Now its "we're a big club therefore agents try to screw us" after the cash cow has been milked. If we're in the mix come Jan, it'll be "Mr Rupp will have to inject funds for the final push" then it'll be back to deficits next year whatever league we're in.

"Like every area, we are pushing for growth and an improved average attendance - on 18/19 and 19/20. Keep this up and we might even have a few quid for January!"
Sparks was tweeting this other night, right now we obviously have no quid for January then

In the run up to the window closing we had room in the budget but having signed a rejected donkey on the cheap it turns out we had to stretch the budget to do it. Now we’re being told that if we keep turning up and chipping in we might have a bit to spend in January. There’s no precision, it’s all ifs buts and maybes.

Don't mind loaning out the youth. They need regular stating time getting knocked around in the men's game, not cover and 10 minutes off the bench.
FCD looks like the only one near our first team and a few months in the vanarama would do them wonders for the rest (probably FCD too tbh).
Staunton looked decent but was out for best part of a year, thats a long time, especially for a young lad. Expect he needs some time to get back up to speed (or honestly see if that injury had just fucked him now).
So long as we have breaks in any loan deal we can bring them back in January if they are doing well and save having to panic buy then.
If in Jan, or end of the season, we have 3 or 4 home ground lads around 19 coming back to us with a decent amount of senior football under their belt we're in a good place.
But do still agree on our signings being shite....

glad to see some city fans are not jumping on the Sparks/Adams hype train...that grovelling podcast was hilarious 😂 got through 5 mins before i had to reach for a bucket.
agree with the general sentiment in this thread. there seems to be a shit ton of marketing going on at the moment, but the same old shit business model and mixed messaging re money lie just underneath the flashy videos
i don't really see anything on or off the pitch which goes against the sort of fuck ups which have characterised our recent failure
i really hope to be proved wrong...

There’s a lot of desperate people out there who think all our prayers will be answered when Angol comes back. If I were them I’d be working on my next excuse just to be ready.
