Oldham’s owner is as bad as Rahic isn’t he? I suspect Samuels is cheaper than Lavvers and that’s why they went for him, but choosing one of the worst strikers I’ve seen in a City shirt over the saviour of our season is not doing my confidence in the recruitment man any good. Cook apart, has he chosen a decent striker yet?
Maybe he’s got the same blind spot as Parkinson and can’t find a striker to save his life. Fortunately Adams’ liking for players to do the jobs they’re there for means that attackers are more expected to focus on attacking than they were under Parky so hopefully Adams can carry on getting a bit more out of average attackers than more defensive managers.
As for the others, Angol at least has a small reputation for being a bit of an enigma and having some ability but rarely, if ever, showing it. For Angol I’ve got a tiny glimmer of hope. Lavery, on the other hand, has nothing in his recent past to suggest he’ll be a good signing. He looks like a late, rushed signing purely to avoid accusations of desperately shallow squad depth up front.
When you look at our forward line and consider the possibility of an injury to Cook then it quickly looks pretty desperate.
Looks like there's a few 'squaddies' making up the numbers. Not a problem until they become first team due to injuries.
