We’re fucking clueless when it comes to signing and managing players. I remember Doyle playing as a '10' at Grimsby away with Vaughan and Donaldson upfront and thinking 'does BowyerS have the first clue what he's doing'. I was also at Doyle's last game against Preston when he being used as a target man Hanson style, fans at the side of me were giving Doyle dogs abuse all game, even for stuff that wasn't his fault. Ended up in a slanging match. Not only our managers who were thick, a lrage section of our fan base is just as stupid. Wellens twice and Evatt knew exactly how to get the best out of Doyle as any manager at this level should have. It will be interesting to see what the outcome is regarding Trueman and Sellars, the club is back to its toxic days again after finishing 15th and not through the fault of the aforementioned. I must admit i have no confidence at all in the club moving forward, most people i know are thinking long and hard about renewing their tickets. It proves the price is immaterial if the product you're buying is percieved to be crap, you could drop the price to £100 and it wouldn't make a difference. Fans are just tired of the club having no long term aim other than to be a club for people to be happy to support. Driving through Bradford today and it makes you think as to what the future is for this dying city and its sporting heritage. If very few fans around BD8 really give a shit about the club what is the message being sent out from Valley Parade, i'm not sure i can stomach any more new players with the soundbytes of 'We shouldn't be in this division' or 'Bradford are a massive club' because in reality all we have is a big lop sided stadium built in a shit hole, that we don't own and a fan base that doesn't really represent the future demographic of this city. My lads losing interest and to be honest i can't blame him. Games against the likes of Sheffield Utd or Sunderland in packed stadiums, now facing, and no disrespect, the likes of Harrogate and Barrow and humdingers against possibly the likes of Sutton united or Torquay. I'll be really honest, i've got better things to do with my leisure time. Drinking real ale in some obscure pub in Barrow isn't my idea of a great day out. I was exactly the same as you at that Preston game. Had to stop myself from getting into a ruck with some clowns sat near us who were just hammering Doyle all the way through. Fucking clueless.

Painful wasn't it. Watching us boot the ball constantly long and Doyle having no chance of winning any challenges against big championship defenders. I bit my tongue for so long, then my exact words were 'Any chance you two boring twats can fuck off'.

Drinking real ale in some obscure pub in Barrow isn't my idea of a great day out. most of our fans judge strikers on how many headers they win. The same ones who say any manager can only ever play 442 because parky got us to a cup final once. Absolute fuckwits the lot of them.

Fair play to Sparks, he's shown his bottle and made the right call. It would've been easy to give them the summer and hope it works but was never going to happen.
Now go get Wellens.

Good decision. T&S had a good start and rode the bounce but as soon as they were found out tactically every manager seemed to have their number and the run in was abysmal.
It's time to set out our stall from the start, and give the new manager a whole summer to sort their team out, not be expected to mould a team a week before the season as is usually the case.

In all seriousness, neither of them had any professional playing, coaching or managing and came when moral was at the lowest it's ever been and not really expected to last more that Crawley away. They set in some discipline and organisation and got instant results and boosted the confidence on the pitch.
With hindsight, we probably all got a bit carried away with some the results and the genuine expectation of what they could achieve with the players we had.
The lack of experience caught them out I think in the end. Not just their literal experience in terms of work history, but possibly how the players perceived them and reacted to them.
They'll benefit greatly if they're allowed to be around a more established experienced manager who has their own contacts and networks they can tap into, they deserve that at least.
A lot does rest on the background of players we bring in. We've still some of the Rahic rot, players who were coming to us off the back of one, sometimes 2 relegations, and McCalls speed dial mates. We need people coming in on the back of success (although we did that with BRE and cocked it up), not losers.

Cooke had a face like my lad when we go somewhere without wi-fi when he walked off Saturday, keeping him and getting rid of Evans are higher on the list than what happens to Billy Clarke

SparksY has offered them other roles at the club, and the press release states that we're not wanting applications. Clearly we've got whoever we want in.
Brutal. I like it. Hope T&S do stay at the club, they came in and did well even though they ended up not at the level we needed. I'd have given them to the end of the season, we did, they didn't kick on. Ah well.
I'm liking the decisive action. Unless we hire a dream team of Clarke and Donaldo as joint player-managers on a five year deal.
