With no Cooke, I hope we don't try sticking to 4231. There's no point with the fulcrum of that set up missing when no one else has the stuff to fill in. Better to cut your cloth accordingly and work with what you have got. I hate 4-4-2ers with a passion, but that does seem the best option with whats available. Rowe will naturally come deep but he's a false 9 not a 10, he doesn't move enough to do the Cooke role. we haven't got the strikers to play 442. None of them can play together because they're all too similar. Unless Jigsaw MK II has come out the woodwork and suddenly looks like a footballer, we should stick to one up top. In which case its Rowe OR Cook, not both. Better to have FCD or even Scales in midfield than Rowe, Evan's or Clarke. But I know theres no way those two get in ahead of any of those three in reality.

Clarke not even on the bench. Is he fit?

Got to assume Clarke’s injured. Evans really needs a performance today otherwise I might start thinking he’s a bit of a shithouse. Good to see Rowe played properly - 5/4 to score any time and 4/1 for first goal.

Watt is like the Woolworths value Josh Cullen He’s really wasteful today. Spraying it everywhere except where it’s supposed to be going. He need to calm down a bit and stop trying the Gerrard ball all the time

We're starting to look as bad as we were before xmas. The failure to bring in another central midfielder is costing us because Sutton and Watt have no control at anytime in there and teams are continually walking through us.
Only a matter of time before Oldham score and we look completely toothless

We should rename ourselves Backwards City.
If I wanted to watch a sport where you have to go back all the time, I'd watch the Bulls

They don't have to win the ball back from us, they can just wait until the inevitable bad pass. Missing Cooke unfortunately.
Wood looks guilty of being wasteful with those little chipped balls forward he tries but to be fair he's really isolated and it's just about the only ball he has on.

New manager bounce gone.
I'm worried about what I see. This isn't anything like front foot football. What the fucks happened to us? Its more than just Cooke being out

That first sentence is painfully accurate.

The worrying thing is the predictability. The constant reliance on a system which isn’t currently working, alongside the same substitutions week in week out must make an opposition manager’s job easy.
