Sparks reminds me of the recentish graduates we get. Know everything and love to spout bollocks they think makes them look good in meetings, can talk for five minutes without actually telling you anything and say shit like going forward instead of in the future. It’s all about them and building their bastard brand. Yes he needs to communicate, anything is an improvement on Rhodes but I’ve seen far too much of him this week, actions not words. Hopefully he’s a place holder until a proper CEO comes in under billionaire new owners. He reminds me of someone off The Apprentice.

It's better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

I’ve just re-read this quote and it’s actually worse than I first thought:
He’s not promising to get us back to where we were but somewhere that ‘feels like where we were’. The only vaguely specific goal is to be ‘competing at the right of this division’. There’s no actual talk of promotion being the aim in there unless you count the utterly non committal ‘then so on’.
It’s so mealy-mouthed it’s untrue.

Lowe has come out of nowhere to become favourite at 6/4. Surely we wouldn't pay compo?

I’d be happy with Lowe. We’d be finally acting like a big club. He’s got back to back promotions and is in the division above. His contract his running down and he might fancy moving back north. Plays decent football too.

It's the hope that kills you, he's the first name linked that I find genuinely exciting which means it's definitely never happening.

Please don't say he's actually teasing us like this if it's not going to happen...

The only way we get Lowe is if Argyle agree to terminate his contract which they might due to his recent record and go desire to get back North.
However we do it I don’t give a fuck, it’d be a coup. He’d also be a manager worth pushing stability for. Stick with him because of he’s Lowe and he’s got a proven track record, not because he’s Stuart and we all love him and we need to stick with a manager one time.
Get him on board with a view to a four or five season spell of revamping the whole shit show and give him the time and the backing. No more rudderless fucking about.

Sparks needs to put a proper plan in place and sell it to him.

Lowe, signed by Jenkins, is the final piece in the ‘nearly’ jigsaw.

All this talk of looking at managers in a job is just a front to make us look more ambitious than we actually are. Lowe and Flynn? For starters why would they want to come here and secondly, we aren't paying compensation. We'll end up with someone off the scrap heap as usual. My money is on Hurst or McGreal.

I’ve got a £10 saver on Flitcroft at 14/1. We can discount Parky, Campbell, Adkins and most likely Lowe so Hurst looks like the leading candidate of the realistic ones.
