Leaving aside our actual form this is the most worrying stat: Without drastic changes were fucked because that number of chances would require the most ruthless strike force in the country. We’ve got Donaldson and Samuels. If this form continues, by the time it gets to January we're going to need some playoff level form to keep us up which means playoff level players. If you're not getting a game at your current club and we're your best option then that's not going to be a good enough standard. I think we're screwed. Zeli and Staunton are out for a good while so they can't help. Cooke, Clarke and Novak improve on what we have on the pitch but not enough. Zeli should be an insurance payout. Sad to say but you’ve got to imagine he’s finished as a pro footballer.

It all feels like when you have a family member in hospital struggling for their final breath. You just want it to end and the relief is a tonic.
Since Rhodes took sole control and bombed Gibb out we have watch the mediocrity cancer take over. He's sapped the life out of the club. Granted we had some medicine in the form of Parkinson who despite his football style gave us hope with his professionalism.
Rhodes last two major appointments were a manager that had failed twice before and the big one giving a kid way out of his depth the big job.
When the club goes it will be down to Rhodes and all the sheep who have held him up for all theses years.
I'm thankful to Stapleton for creating a team I got hooked on, Richmond, Kammy and Jewell for giving us the best few years and Parkinson for reminding us what it felt like to dream.
Rhodes, Jeffries, Robson, Law Snr, Todd, Taylor, McCall x3, Collins, Grayson, Hopkins and Bowyer can all fuck off.
While I'm at it Eddie Johnson was a cunt.

It’s a matter of “when” not “if” now. The squad is so shite that I’m not sure if any manager could get us picking up points and on top of that we won’t be able to sign good enough players in January.
Put a fork in us we’re done.

I was actually thinking about writing a similar analogy; its like the first time you experienced death when you were a child, more like a beloved pet or grandparent (as opposed to say a sibling or parent) after a period of illness - its a bit like a watershed moment in life, where you realise some things just don't get better. And no matter how much you want or hope, you can't change where the cards fall. I'm seeing that with the club at the moment - its been there for a while but aside from our league future being at stake, it's the realisation that it's just not meant to be for Stuart. As this club's greatest player and leader on the pitch, after 3 spells in management the saddest thing to see isn't necessarily the shit results, it's the helplessness (you just want someone to come and do or say something to make it better for him) and - probably even worse - the fact he just doesn't inspire any of the players he manages. That hurts.

When has he ever signed a player like that?

When has he ever signed a player like that? Flynn and Vincelot probably. But out of xx players over 5+ years, it's a terrible record.

McCall the player I loved, McCall the man I admire and enjoy his stories, McCall the manager after three spells I detest. He tries to tinker like he is a footballing genius, but he doesn't have the success to back it up.

He admitted he had never heard of him, was an Abbott signing.

Only way I can see us staying up is somebody else going into admin and Southend not improving.

I don’t even think its ‘if’. I’m fairly sure we will go down.
Our next 2 games are Oldham and Crawley away. We’re getting nothing from those. Then Cambridge at home - given our performances against anyone remotely near the top 7, that’s another defeat. Away to Grimsby, maybe we’ll get something. Then Tranmere and Port Vale. All before we even get to January. I could very easily see us not getting a single point from the next 6 games. We could be 2-3 wins from safety before the window even opens.
So even if we nail January, I don’t think we’ll get out of this. Especially not under McCall - has he ever shown an ability to turn around poor runs/teams at any club he’s managed?
