Parker reckons we're in for Danny Rowe which is probably true considering he has 4 goals this season and is over 30. I looked at his stats. Nearly 31 and spent the last 2 seasons in L2, never played higher. Not doing much to change my flaccidity. Had a look and Oldham fans seem to rate him pretty highly. It also looks like the move is being driven by a fallout between Rowe and the owner so it’s not like they’re trying to flush turds. One odd part about the praise though is that some of it is in regard to his hold up/lay off ability. If he’s that sort of player we’ll still be needing a nippy bastard to get in amongst.

About 4 years too late for a gamble on Rowe.
7 Football League goals in his career. No thanks.

Rowe is not a goalscorer at this level it seems but his hold up play is good and he's a good foil for more mobile forwards either side of him. If we managed to sign him and bin off donkey Donaldson in the same deal it would be one of the best deals we've done.

If we did that deal I might have the proverbial Pot Noodle and a wank. And I hate Pot Noodles. Didn’t Donaldo have one of his blue moon good games against Oldham?

Swap deal for Donaldo and £50k apparently. I’d be delighted with that deal. We’d get a better player, jettison yet another shit one and get one six years younger who won’t kick it wide when it’s on the line. Plus it makes room to sign another striker and complete the front line overhaul.
Donkaldo wages won’t be small either. Cracking deal if we pull it off.

Id be happier with it if it saw the back of Donaldson. But 50k seems a lot for a player out of contract in 5 months time.

Looking at Rowes record in all competitions since he signed for Oldham he has 11 in 32 which isn't a bad record. The Oldham fans seem to think that Kewell hasn't been playing him right and if he was used as a striker he would get plenty.
Not to be too much of a gomper, I would be happy with this one. If we can get Donaldson out and replace him as well I think we have done pretty well. Still need a winger and maybe a midfielder though.

Worth a punt for me. Hold up play is pretty much all Donaldo can do, this lad can do that and score from distance as well. Sometimes its about marginal gains rather than massive upgrades.

Donaldson when he first arrived still had a bit left in the tank. Scoring goals wasn’t his strength but you could see what he brought to the team. He’s now a busted flush and swapping him for a striker who’s reasonable close to his prime and well liked by the fans who watch him would be a fantastic piece of business.

Well worth a punt on Rowe. Their fans really don't want to lose him, which is always a good sign.

We just signed Donaldo at the wrong time, go back a few years and he was championship level. I like the look of Rowe but had we signed anyone else at 30 with a couple of handfuls of football league games under his belt it would be laughed off. Maybe we should do a Crawley and sign up Zayn Malik.
