It’s the sad part of appointing a club legend, they’ll get sacked when it goes badly. Do feel like he’s been stitched up to an extent - squad was a mess on arrival, changing room unrest, no money in the pot. Last night in his post game interview he sounded a bit like when it went badly in the Rahic era in that he was biting his tongue and not telling the full story. No way is he happy with some kid who couldn’t get a goal at national league leave level. I know we take the piss of our iPad based recruitment but he’s not stupid. Ironically when the time comes, it’ll be the next managers job to fix the previous recruitment. Again.
In a year or two I’m sure he’ll do another tell all evening down the fire pit. Or whatever the fuck it’s called this week.

From the T&As 'live transfer blog' yesterday (as if we were going to be involved in that...), we all knew but just a friendly reminder-
3:52pm
There was talk that the big striker could have been on his way back out in this window.
A couple of League Two clubs did approach City in the summer but Guthrie convinced Stuart McCall that he wanted to stay ...
-------------
Why Stuart, why? Why did you do this?

“We need to get through this season financially okay and then we can start to build again. But obviously it won’t be with me.”
This from the T&A interview with Rhodes basically summed up what we all knew watching the abysmal recruitment. Rhodes doesn't give a shit about Stuart, he's hanging him out to dry this season. Don't know why McCall came back to put up with it

Hopkins, Bowyer and Grayson all had decent records elsewhere. McCall got us to the play off finals with a half decent team. The manager is absolutely not the problem. Very much agree darling!

Failure McCall is shit. And a section of the fans that a misplaced love affair of McCall are part of the problem.
Fuck off McCall, you're shit.

He’s really not a good manager but sacking and replacing him would just buy the real problems time. Change the hierarchy and let them bring in the right man.

3 goals at home in 5 games. 1 of them a penalty. 1 win in 5 and gone behind in 4 of those games.
We had a decent win at Mansfield and followed it with 2 quick home games where we did nothing to build on it.
What we all feared is now predictably happening and the scary thing is we know from experience here and elsewhere McCall will likely be unable to turn it around, and just get more desperate along the way trying to do it.

McCall is a problem- he never knows why he won so can't repeat it, and never knows why he lost so can't fix it- but he's not the biggest problem. Rahic was right to fire him last time, even if the replacements left a lot to be desired. But Rahic gutting the club and then running away is why we are where we are.
I can't even really blame Rhodes, it's clear that our absentee owner isn't putting any money in and is quite happy to do the bare minimum to stop us going bust entirely. 18th in League Two suits him fine. We need Rupp out.

He’s not actually very good, but I can’t think of anybody who works for Bradford City who is less to blame.

What's the point in this football club?
Rupp, Rhodes, McCall v3. All utterly pointless.
Oh to be ambitious like say a Barnsley. Or Rotherham.
Is that really too much to ask for?

Losing at Bolton, next up is Barrow away, Southend at home and Tonbridge...
You could see us losing all these, the quality has been established are hideously atrocious, there is nothing to like about the players and Stuart just looks out of options and desperate already.
He's gonna walk again.

You see the comments from McCall, and you just think 'fuck off'. And I can't believe I'm thinking that.
His managerial career is on the ropes. He can't save this now - Tonbridge will be the knockout blow IMO.

Fail to get a result from comfortably the worst side in the league and that’ll be it for him.

Think people have had enough of feeling for him as he frantically tries to paper the cracks. He's a soft touch because he loves the club and fans are beyond fucked off with it. At the same time he's making the same naice mistakes off the pitch, on the pitch and in interviews he did in 2007. You felt sorry for him the other 2 times he left, but he's done a Greg Abbott and fucked himself. He was doomed when he decided to come back again.

He's signed his own death warrant with his comment tonight 'We were never going to be Top 3'.
Jeez, if only we could compete with the likes of Newport, Forest Green and Cambridge.
It's the fourth tier for fucks sake.

If Rhodes had the nous to look for other options he wouldn’t have done. But why waste time wading through CV’s, researching candidates, arranging and conducting interviews then having lengthy discussions to narrow the field before second interviews and final decisions when you can just ring Stuart up again? He won’t say no and it’s not even like it’ll be a long call so you can save your mobile minutes too.

The one time we looked halfway decent was when we played 442 at Mansfield. Then Stu said it was 'never a 442' even though everyone thought it was. Then we go dicking about with all this 3 at the back stuff again, diamonds, lopsided formations. It's League 2. He's learned nothing and it looks like the players are the same.
When you're in a rut you need to go back to basics and percentages. A problem we have is nobody good enough to play out wide week in week out because he's failed to build a balanced squad. It seems like he's signed Clarke with the intention of building a team around him. He wants the creativity of 2 wingers from 1 4th division footballer and it's never going to work, particularly the immobile strikers we're lumbered with. You look at what our strengths should be with our strikers and it's not going to be defence splitting threaded balls. It's going to be crosses into the box. We've been saying that on here for months yet here we are still saying it and he's still not playing to our strengths.
We all love Stuart but it's not blasphemy to point out his deficiencies as a manager. I'm struggling to think of many positives at the moment.
