We hear this alot by fans and players that we are a 'massive' or 'big' club but are we?
Big clubs win leagues or cups every couple years maximum, it's been 35 years since we last won something.
1985.
I know Liverpool went thirty years but look at their previous and the amount of cups they won between that time.
We've got a decent sized ground and we flirted with the Prem but apart from that and the two cup runs I'm struggling.

Forgot to mention we mainly bumble around the 3rd and 4th division.
Further adding to the myth, I'd argue Barnsley are bigger.

By 'big club' obviously we don't mean European football contenders, but at least a strong Championship side in terms of setup and facilities.
No. And there's no desire to try to be either. I think given the option most of our fans would happily say 'no'.
I'm sure I've read some fact about us being the largest city to have the poorest league side or something. We've had successful Burnley and Leeds on teams on opposite sides to us when were a two-club city and struggled to match them, and while we've been a one club city for 45 years we haven't improved long term really and relatively in that period.
Even when we're a big fish in a small pond we've never behaved like it. If anything we seem to act the opposite.

No. The only metric we could be considered a big club is attendances and they are relative to the level we’re at and artificially inflated by cheap tickets.
We could be a big club though. Not huge but we could be a decent force.

We've now announced twice that you can't watch the town game or Bolton game but now we can view them. They've done more U Turns than the Tories, we're definitely not run like a big club.

Nope and never will be. For some reason the club and citizens of the city don't demand more from their football club.
Bizarre really, when you consider Rotherham, Barnsley et al make a fist of being at least a Championship yo yo club.
Christ, since we were last at that level Yeovil and Wycombe have been/are there. And Luton got there, were relegated to the Conference, stayed there for about five years and are now back in the Championship.
We're pathetic, all in all.

Historically I suppose we've been sandwiched between successful Leeds and Burnley sides, were a two team city for while but then in the 90s-00s the Bulls probably had as much relative success as we did. I'd throw in the fact that a big majority of the city have naff all local pride when it comes to sport. Huge numbers of Premier Legaue followers, Leeds fans everywhere and barely any support from the sizeable Asian population. The mindset of the fans who can be bothered is stoicism to its fullest; its seen as a badge of pride to some for us to futiliy struggle in the lower legaues. What did that guy on twitter say the other day? 'I started following us in the 4th division years ago and I wouldn’t have it any other way now'. Sums it up.

“Teamed up” 😂😂 Huddersfield Town have live streamed every single pre-season game this season as part of their club policy. We had absolutely no idea they were doing it, but are now making out like we’ve gone above and beyond for the fans days after explicitly stating there would be no live stream available. This club is pathetic.
