Eyes down, there’s a whole Butlins’ summer season of Gomper Bingo in there. I honestly don’t know where to start.

It’s so fucking simple: start getting it right on and off the pitch and you’ll sell season tickets. Call me a marketing genius.

"It’s hard to imagine ever getting bored of going to Valley Parade"
Yeah, so many memories over the last 2 years... Last season with a manager so boring he was driving fans away.

We've gone from selling a dream to selling second hand y fronts at the local car boot. 'Even the TL Dallas adds charm to the ground'. No it doesn't, it looks shite. What next the decrepid corner where the changing rooms are becomes a listed building due to its historical importance. It's Valley Parade not Fenway Park or Wembley.

'Even the TL Dallas adds charm to the ground'. No it doesn't, it looks shite. Don't be dissing the Bradford Bombonera. It has no charm at all - it's derided by away fans and in terms of looks make the ground look like its deformed. The tunnel / changing room area is equally appalling, but would probably be described as 'having character'.

I'm all for calling out the 'gomper' shit, having had it explained to me in another thread, and fans have a right to criticise the club without being decried as 'haters' or whatever
But reading the above, is there anything you lot actually like or enjoy about supporting City? Shit ground, shit team, shit management, and even shitter fans, apparently...
Maybe some of you'd be tempted by non league. Can get pissed while you watch. Makes a big difference.

It’s the fact that we could be better but don’t even try that sucks the life right out of you. We plod along never trying anything new and hoping it’ll work this time. We’re all fans of long standing and I think that might be our biggest problem. When you e heard all the bullshit before even the synthetic hope the club tries to instil in you runs dry. Now it’s not a case of following the team blindly, it’s a case of, ‘right, fucking show me something’.

The old, 'Why don't you go and support someone else then?' line.

What's a good time though? The product us horrendous, there's zero ambition, most of our fans create zero atmosphere and sit on their hands at away games. The bantamsfamily combined with the utter failures of Captain Admin and the Germans with a sprinkling of the worst football I've ever witnessed in 38 years of watching City. I didn't buy a season ticket because I won't let jnr waste my money but I went to every game in August and after Crewe away I just drove back to Newcastle in utter silence knowing this club was in no way the same club I'd fallen in love with in the early 80s.

To a certain extent I agree, but I get fed up of the club and it’s ‘celebrity’ spokespeople elevating mediocrity, at best, to an art form. To use literary metaphors we’re a Sartre play and Catch-22 with a bit of Sysyphus thrown in, we just go nowhere year in year out. A couple of years under Parky is the best we’ve had in 20 years- and that was more accident than design. In over 40 years of watching, the Richmond era was far and away the best and to me the cost was worth it. Irrespective of his financial improprieties he went for it, with others’ money, and gave us one hell of a ride. Sadly, I never expect to see those heights again but I’d like to think that somewhere along the line there is an ambition to be something better than a fan experiencing 4th Division football with a semi-on simply because I can go to a pub and have a curry at lunchtime, before watching crap football in an archaic behemoth.
