We’ve got nothing at fullback and need a complete new midfield. We’ve only got five signings to do it in and, given our recruitment record of hits vs misses, I think we’re in trouble.
We’re also going to struggle desperately for goals. Donaldson will miss the few chances we create, Novak’s a spent force and I’ve not seen anything in the short time Guthrie’s been on the pitch to suggest he’s a footballer.

We could bring in 5 cracking loan signings and it still won’t be enough. Am I correct in saying that we don’t have a single senior CM on our books? That’s 4 new players alone we’re going to need and it’s not even accounting for other positions that are threadbare or are in urgent need of an upgrade. Just don’t see how this is going to work.
Our first 11 is going to be utter shit and it’s going to be nothing short of a shambles when the youth players need to step up after a few injuries/suspensions.

Trying to be positive, I think a small squad would suit Stu a bit. If we get a decent first 11 and steer clear of injuries we might not be too bad. Injuries will be the tricky thing with aging strikers and Zeli's record isn't great. Vaughan and Don will rip this league up, 20 each. Decent ball winning centre mid, teamed with a player who can pick a pass and we'll be fine and dandy. Can I have that jerk chicken recipe too please? I'm doing a beef massaman today. Posted on the other channel. I'm taking care of business on there.

I do worry about the recruitment and fear we'll get old players back plus some loans from Rangers. We've had some good loans recently too though so they're not all bad. O'Brien, Cullen, that centre back from West Ham?

We’ll sign a RB and some CMs and that’ll be it. A lot rests on Vaughan staying and Stuart being able to get the best out him. The fact that we’re actively trying to shift him out doesn’t bear thinking about. It doesn’t even make financial sense because there’ll be no club at all if we go down again.
We’ve just got to hope that two clubs are worse than us.

Our first 11 is going to be utter shit and it’s going to be nothing short of a shambles when the youth players need to step up after a few injuries/suspensions. Shit, you're right. I looked on transfermrkt and our only midfielders listed are Goldthorp, Ismail, and Pritchard. (Goldthorp isn't on the retained list on the club website.) Sam Hornby, plus O'Donnell if he's taken up our offer
Paudie O’Connor, Ben Richards-Everton, Tyler French, Anthony O’Connor, Reece Staunton, Jackson Longridge, Connor Wood Harry Pritchard, Zeli Ismail Lee Novak, James Vaughan, Kurtis Guthrie, Clayton Donaldson I can't see us signing a striker with four on the books. Got some left backs and centre halves (aside from Connor Wood they might not be much cop but they'll do for Capt Admin). With no right back and no senior centre midfield I can see the five loan signings being two right backs and three centre mids. Either that or we'll decide that Tyler French or Paudie can play right back (whether they actually can or not). Probably be the latter, given that we also need to sign at least one winger, probably two - Ismail's always injured and Pritchard's not an out-and-out winger. So next season we'll be relying on kids, players playing out of position, an ageing, non-scoring forward line with no reliable supply from the wings, and praying for some good loan players in centre mid. Sounds great. Wish I was going to be watching it.

He hinted he wanted to sign up Motley Henry again so that's one winger sorted.

One bonus if we do manage to survive next season is that just about everyone will be out of contract during the summer after including the coaching staff. I can’t see us signing anyone for more than one year so come summer 2021 the only players we’ll be stuck with will be POC, Vaughan and Staunton.

Think it was Leeds who released him on the Monday and he came on as a sub for us the following day.

I think we’ll be beyond the shit pool. Most of our recruitment will come from our youth team. Staunton might actually get a game at last. I think he's nailed on back up to Wood and our local lad for the squad. Donaldson is the local player.

You know what, if it meant we invested in a proper scouting system this summer, I'd take us only signing 5 free loans for next season.
It shouldn't be be an either/or scenario but we've nobody at the football club to demonstrate this to Rupp and show him the importance of a proper infrastructure as well as making sure the here and now isn't neglected.
And I'm not talking about hiring a few Mickey mouse scouts on a part time basis scouting the fucking pubs leagues either. A director of football/head of recruitment, a couple of data analysts and a club owned video/analysis software package. If I'm correct, we don't have a chief scout, or any scouts for that matter and Stuart is using his own personal WyScout subscription. You see how tinpot and amateur that sounds?
Just think, get that system working and we're not spunking cash at wannabes like Akpan, frauds like Anderson and manager's love children like Taylor. The irony is those three wages probably pay for the majority of what I mentioned above anyway.
