The gomping with this one is ferocious
So typical of city fans to want someone instantly back who has been on a downward trajectory ever since he left 4 year ago. Would I want to see him back? On the basis of ability yes. On the basis of sentiment because of the Leeds goal then fuck no.
How do people even know hes 'class' and 'quality' when they probably last saw him in 2016?

Lovely lad but look at the level of football he's dropped to. Is that really what we want? A Peak Knott you'd take but that ship seems to have sailed as few years ago.

He had the talent but lacked the brain. He also had a tendency to go into his shell if things weren’t going his or the team’s way.
The times he showed his quality was when we were twatting teams. Any sort of in game adversity and he grew a fanny.

Don't worry though, Jamie Lawrence is on the case. It'll be like Arnold and total rebuild where Lawrence tries to turn the clocks back for Knotty for one last hurrah in the football league. Envisage a video format with Rocky music.

He's a bit like Cooke, had the potential to be a very good player at this level and the one above. Unfortunately Knott lost his head when his bird cheated on him and then lost his granddad and hit the bottle. He moved back home to be closer to his family and it hasn't worked he's taken the George Green route and you don't come back from that

Can't remember which of the two seasons it was but he went through about 3 months of so of looking like a very good midfielder - I remember him being allowed to get forward, he looked threatening and creative and got a few goals and assists. But after that we didn't see it again.
He's not finished at 27, but he probably won't have many chances left to get back in the league.
When we've got enough problems of our own I don't want us to re-sign him on the basis of feeling emotional.

She was a stunner if i remember the photos he used to post on social media. Didn't she end up with someone from Emmerdale?

Women like that might look good but they’ve always got one eye on that space between your shoulder blades. The lower his career dropped the more the chances of his live-in mercenary looking for fresh opportunities grew. It’s a heartwarming love story for the ages.

He'd be a cheap back up for Billy Clarke though, might be worth a punt for next season.

Must have been a nightmare every time you go to a fancy nightspot in Leeds with a stunner like that. Every other footballer, soap star and love island lookalike sniffing round every time you slope off for a piss. Its why fat birds are a dream, its a privilege for them to fuck you and they know it.

Read a post that day with someone suggesting we bring McArdle back and the majority of replies were in agreement. If any other defender had been released by a club 20th in league 2 our fans wouldn’t bat an eye lid but hey, he’s one of our own and was good for us 5 years ago. Although McCall isn’t quite as semifinal as our fans he does appear to be more attached to his players than other managers and it wouldn’t at all surprise me to see a McMahon/Billy Clarke type of signing this summer. One based purely off emotion completely overlooking the fact that the player he’s brought in is probably a busted flush. Bowyer was exactly the same. The Anderson and Henley signings were utterly embarrassing but the fact he’d worked with them before gave him an incredible amount of comfort.
Knott comes across as a good bloke but there really is no time for sentiments in football. It’s a no from me it’s about time our club invested in a proper scouting network or fail that, recruit a scout with a proven track record who quite literally “knows football”. Lost count of the amount of times I’ve written off a player as shit simply through browsing Internet forums only to see them in the flesh and for them to be predictably shit.

Imagine Clarke and Hanson upfront with George Green and Billy Knott in centre mid?
Would tear up league 2. Bring. Them. Home. #ballerz

That bowyer had to do his own scouting from the get go showed we were never really serious about backing him How many other league 2 clubs could go out and sign Vaughan on a 3 year deal, Clayton Donaldson who’ll be on massive wages and then Palmer, Cooke and Devitt. None of those players stood out, and yet the funds to bring in 5 high calibre players for this level were there. The majority of other league 2 clubs have to settle for the Ismail’s and Longridge’s of this world. Bowyer was limited to a degree in what he could and couldn’t sign and yet there are other managers who would love to have been in his position. Even when he splashed the cash his signings didn’t live up to expectations. Offering contracts to Devine, Anderson, Colville and Taylor was a disgrace. He then outdid himself by paying fee’s for Novak and Guthrie. Completely out of his depth before and after that scout from Walsall arrived.

Not defending bowyer for a second, the january window was fucking criminal even for us. But it doesnt matter who you sign, if the managers doing his own scouting you're a pro team from the 80s or sunday league.
