Hopefully Starmer can pull his finger out of his arse for once and get Labour to oppose.

He’s right, it’s totally unnecessary so why are they so stuck on the idea?
Everyone needs to be wary here but there’s so many people who are all for every measure proposed that we could come out of this in pretty bad shape. This opportunity won’t be wasted.

Why are they stuck on the idea? Because ots just the next step. A rise in the R rate at some arbitrary point? The the passports WILL be needed in pubs and trains etc. We'll end up with a 2 tier system whereby not having the jab will exclude someone from every walk of meaningful life. This is 100%, 1984 George Orwell shit.

We need to prove we've had a "vaccination" before we can go places. A vaccination that is purely about reducing the severity of symptoms. Doesn't stop you getting it, doesn't stop you spreading it but you can't go to watch a film without it. 🤦🏼♂️

The only way to beat a virus is through herd immunity. You either achieve that by infection or vaccination. You don’t beat a virus by hiding in your house for a year, watching Loose Women and wiping your arse on newspaper. Fucking floppy-haired, gibbering prick seems to be seeing how much bullshit he can get away with one. It’s like he’s decided to have a bit of a laugh quick sharp before it ends. I’ve said it before but elements of this whole shitshow have, at times, felt like a giant social experiment. Some of it has been downright bizarre.

I'm doing a roaring trade in plastic bed sheets at the moment. The number of wet beds following yesterdays second stage reopening was off the scale.
Some were absolutely soaked in piss.
From what I have seen, Travelling from Manchester to London to put some flowers outside Buckingham Palace and then stand in a huge crowd of people you don't know is ok.
Sitting at a table outside to enjoy the pub for the first time in 4 months with people you do know, you are responsible for the extinction of the human race..

It doesn't surprise me that this has been thrown out today. The bedwetters were baying for blood with veins popping out of their head as they saw young health people going out for a beer together. Some people seem to be far too comfortable on the furlough life and are starting to get a little worried they might have to do something to earn some money rather than grow fat on their arse ordering takeaway. Businesses are been thrown under the bus with little support, and there will be a rude awakening when furlough dries up because businesses can only last so long, and every time the can gets kicked down the road as we bow down to further lockdowns, more and more business fall by the wayside.

I'm not so sure, yes there were a huge number of bed wetters out there yesterday but I was reassured with the large number of people who got out and it's these people that give me confidence that people won't stand for it going forward. If someone is so scared of a virus that has seen us prioritise the vaccination of those who accounted for 99% of all deaths, then let them hide behind the sofa. The Edwina Currie rant the otherday made me want to stick my foot through the TV who doesn't even want to be in the same carriage as an unvaccinated person. Most of the outrage seems to be because those who were out are those who are of an age where Covid is largely just a cold to them, they still come out with the shit that they could pass it on to those more vulnerable but those more vulnerable have been vaccinated, are they now suggesting the vaccine doesn't actually work, whilst still lobbying for a vaccine passport?

You restrict until you have a vaccine, then when you have a vaccine you open up again. That's how it's always worked- the 1918, 1958 and 1986 flu epidemics, SARS, yadda yadda.
By July everyone who needs a jab will have had one, so everyone else can go back to normal. I can see countries only letting you in if you've had a jab, but beyond that, nah. Especially as vaccination doesn't stop you spreading Covid, it stops you getting ill with it, which is really what the point is.
I wouldn't pay attention to anything Johnson says.
Our government say all internal restrictions will end on Monday all being well. Fingers crossed, this third lockdown here has been shit.
