Where you at, homey?

Where you at, homey? I could do with picking your brains if you’re still browsing. You were the redhead with the hare lip in the Native American wolf T-shirt, I was the sweating bloke in the singlet and shell suit bottoms. We shared a glance on the 760 through Saltaire, hit me up if you're reading this.

Is it anything I can help with? Not unless it's a question on genital defects I'd imagine.

Dennis if we were to get this sell on in full this week when would it show up ? Not for a long time. If it were paid in full this week, it would be shown in this season's accounts which wouldn't be in the public domain until March 2021! There's no requirement to inform Companies House of this like there would be if the owner had invested more of his cash in the club. And even then because the club chooses to publish the barest minimum in their accounts, it would take some effort to find it. In the mean time, we'll have to rely on what Parker says in the T&A and of course those ITK! In reality, I doubt it will be paid in full. We'll get our share as Swansea receive the payments from Sheffield. So if the Blades have negotiated to pay Swansea the so-called upfront fee over say 3 years, we'll also receive our sell-on part over 3 years as each payment is received by the Swans. And then on top of that, we'll receive our share of the add-ons as they are triggered.

'Upfront' fees aren't generally paid upfront. That's why Dennis referred to it as a so-called upfront fee, it's a misnomer and should really be called an initial or basic fee. The way it normally works is the selling club gets the initial, basic fee paid in instalments (with whatever add-ons they've negotiated being paid when the conditions are met).
There might be the odd occasion where a buying club has underspent for the current financial year or they're trying very hard to twist the selling club's arms and they pay full whack on the day the transfer goes through, but as far as I can tell this is pretty unusual.

It was mentioned to me when in conversation that it could well be paid upfront, happens often.
