Said it before but what a league that is. All those local teams to us meaning huge crowds and atmosphere every week, home and away. Good football with talented players. We were almost there, we had a squad that just needed a bit of improving and it was dismantled.
U arsehole Ed!n m8.

Or if McCall had grown a pair and gone for it.

Or if McCall had grown a pair and gone for it. I'd agree with that but it was no excuse to rip that team apart. Imagine we'd added Dack and kept Meredith.

What a brilliant game that was. The quality from both teams was excellent - I can't see City being in that league, certainly not in a competitive sense, in my life time.

We've got 2 vital components. ° A decent ground ° A sizeable fan base What we don't have is someone willing to take a punt and invest. It's been mentioned elsewhere. Barnsley, Bournemouth, Huddersfield. Why them and not us? Barnsley ffs. Little shit heap ex mining town over us?

A big shitheap ex wool town. True but we have a population about 5 times larger. Doesn't make sense. Yes it does. One word Hooch .... money, fucking money! Town had loads of it thanks to their owner and now have even more; Bournemouth had it thanks to their owner, still have it and like Town, now have even more and even shithole Barnsley had money thanks to their owner but the only positive bit is that it is now a lot less than either Town or Bournemouth! Meanwhile, we have virtually none of the crinkly stuff. And we certainly don't have an owner who will provide us with any. We're destined to remain a lower league club for the foreseeable future

The Barnsley investors are very rich international players.

He was a long term Barnsley fan who ploughed his own money (not as much as Hoyle but more than any previous owner of our club!) into building up both their academy and their training facilities. They're regarded as some of the best in the EFL and have brought through some big names who have made millions for little shithol' Barnsley. I guess that's what attracted the new owners to them; a club which has a track record in developing talent rather than a club like our own which just talks a good job!

Didn't Barnsley make a mint from John Stones? He went to Man City for 50m and they had something like a 30% sell on clause.

Imagine us getting £8m and the difference that would make to this club. We’d waste £8m on shite instead of the occasional £500k.

It wouldn't though, it would pay some 30+ footballers a pension as they ease into retirement with us for a couple of seasons in L2.
