In answer to the question: I just don’t know.
He’s definitely a bit shit so far but I find it hard to believe he’s got so shit so quickly. Hopefully he’s working his way back to fitness but if not he’s going to be one fucking expensive mistake. It’s not like we’ve got form for those...

I've voted shit.
I thought he came in at the end of last season after his long lay off and did alright. Not exactly setting world on fire but he looked fast and skilful and I remember thinking that if we can keep him fit, we've got a good player on our hands for 4th division football.
Keep himself fit is exactly what he's done. He had a full pre season under his belt with no set backs, and played enough minutes in both pre season and the opening 3 games to get himself match sharp. Bizarrely, it seems to have had an adverse effect. He looks slow, very one dimensional and more the most part just unmotivated.
It can't be easy for him. Prior to us he spent all of his career playing in the one of the best divisions in world football, was earning 10k a week, playing in front of 20k+ crowds on away days etc and after a few unfortunate injuries and a poor career move finds himself playing in the arse end of league 2 in the prime years of his career.

Town fans will tell you how great he is.
To me he looks like a "knock it past the defender and try and beat him for pace" man. Unfortunately on lasts nights showing he simply ain't got the pace to do that. Hopefully he's not fully fit but if that's a fit firing Scannell then we're fucked.

There’s nothing I’ve seen to suggest he can rekindle his former glories. I do at this early stage, however, have to concede I was wrong about Vaughn. Everything about him looks different from the one I saw last season. If #Scanz showed a 10th of his desire and drive we wouldn’t be having this poll.

I don’t think its an attitude problem, he seems an all effort player but that dimishing pace shows a glaring lack of skillset

Given where he was and has ended up I just don't think he has the fight for it.

Bought on reputation and signed to a millstone length contract. I can’t take any more of that shit.

I hate it when I read -
'Sean Scannell is our best player'
He really, really isn't. Or, the standard is so low it doesnt say much when people think hes the best.
He hasn't done one thing in 13 months, even with a major injury, so say there is any 'best' in there.

Someone educate me on Scannel as I hadn't seen him play or noticed him before he came to us. What sort of winger was he? Did he beat a man with pace or skill? Did he find space and cross accurately? Was he the type to get beyond the striker and chip in with goals?
I ask because I've seen very little of anything that would suggest the excitement at his signing. What was he good at before to get people so excited?

Even in the Championship he looked like a hit past his man and run type of player: The only problem is that he no longer had the pace or skill to do it.

I remember him being freakishly strong in possession. Players would come to tackle him and bounce off.
I’m praying he’s unfit or lacking sharpness, whatever. I can’t bear another expensive has been calling in at our place for one last pay day before retiring to fail at being a property developer.

He doesn’t actually look that quick in those clips, although he does seems to get his head up and pick out a good ball in.
