Is this something you've heard? I think Bowyer was asked and more or less confirmed he was interested. MacAnthony said something to that effect too I think. Macanthony confirmed that we were interested but bowyer had to get rid of Doyle to have the funds for it to happen. Now doyles gone albeit on loan I'd expect some movement here

Doyle hasn't exactly been a success story, but we are left with Patrick as backup now. We all know Vaughan is going to get injured at some point and that could mean we need Patrick and Donaldson to deliver.
Talk of Rose and Edmundson don't exactly get the juices flowing. We are woefully short of where we needed to be on terms of quality.

We’re building for next season m8s. Getting rid of Doyle (and please one or two more) saves on wages this year. Couple that with keeping clean sheets and forging a few quality away points like Grimsby, nicking a couple of home wins to keep us just below mid-table and then we can really go for it next season when we’ll really #getourcityback. Looking forward to next season already, this season it’s just about being have to have a club to support, ffs.

Summer we won't see him again That’s that then, we’re giving him away. £300k(?) and a boatload in wages. We’ve done it again, lads, spunked a small fortune on a player who’s done it elsewhere then fizzled like a cheap banger for us. It’d be funny if it wasn’t such a tired gag. Big wages? How much was he on?

Depends what budget this frees up and therefore who comes in. Many of Doyle’s goals were pens. He isn’t a target man of play maker. Utilised correctly he will probably score again. If so that will go against Bowyer based on his team selections to date.

I know teams like Man City can happily spend £50m on a forward on £200k a week, have them do fuck all and it mean nothing to them, but relatively speaking is there any team that takes on so many striker flops or turns them into flops like we do? In the last 5 years I can think of Doyle, McLean, Mcartan, Stewart, Patrick although with no pedigree like the others was given a 3 year deal after 1 game...

Are Swindon paying all of his wages? They fucking better be put it that way - loaning to a league rival while we continue to pay his wages would be rank amateur.... oh wait

The hashtag’s most prolix of cunts weighs in: Is he saying we didn’t clap hard enough? Not sure. I think it’s ‘didn’t play to his strengths’. He’s the only person on Twitter I’ve ever wanted to block just for being so sanctimonious and soul-sappingly dull.

Only decent if we bring in someone in an area we need. Otherwise we are just a senior player light. He’s been no great shakes, but lose Vaughan or donaldson to injury, we suddenly look very weak up front. To add to midfield and out wide. You just know he’ll score a few for them, nailed on.

He’s the only person on Twitter I’ve ever wanted to block just for being so sanctimonious and soul-sappingly dull. He's a knob, but "didn't play to his strengths" is about right. Only we would sign a poacher and try and play him as a lone target man and a no 10.
