I want to say these signings are shit but to be fair we're in League Two with the likes of Morecambe, Newport, Forest Green etc so it's pretty much non-league so who knows.

It does kind of feel that way. The introduction of two up two down appears to have brought league 2 down to conference standards rather than the other way around. I know it’s snobby, but fucking Morecambe? Cheltenham? Stevenage?

If we carry on down this path of signing untried non league players then we will be in trouble next season....they may turn out to be useful players given a few seasons however when they are learning from the spineless bunch that took us down then it’s a recipe for disaster!

There's a pattern emerging with our summer signings. All 3 of them sound fairly impressive, apart from the slight inconvenience that none of them have played at a decent level for any great deal of time. At this stage, I can't work out if Bowyer is being very shrewd in the transfer market or if he's misjudging what's required. I'm not really sure what to make of the recruitment so far. All three have come with well wishes and good words from their previous clubs which is the complete opposite to the signings we made last year. But none of them jump out to me as good signings yet, hopefully bowyer has recruited a couple of gems and the more established players are to come. Think the one from Stanley will most likely be a better one - said before it's better to sign players on the backs of promotions, part of winning teams etc that those who've had successive relegations and being surrounded by failure.

I'm completely reserving judgement on every signing.
Last summer I was always worried that we were at least 3 good players short in terms of our business. But I thought each of Payne, Scannell, Doyle, Mellor and Akpan would be quality. I thought Riley had bags of promise and I thought the O'Brien signing was a piss take.

Doesn’t stop Salford signing decent players though. Even in non league they managed to get Rooney, Pond and Lloyd. Add Towellsy to that now too. Goes to show how much who your owners are and having a clear vision for the club effects who you can attract. If we end up in the play offs and lose to them I might just end it all.

You probably don't need to worry about us losing to anyone in the play-offs.
