Is there any other club in the football league that receive as many windfalls as us? We seem to get them on a yearly basis and here we are, pissing about in league 2.

"Sean Scannell’s departure, while on the face of it allowing an established one to leave, opened the way for City to bring two in.
Getting Scannell and Eoin Doyle off the books, half of the striker’s sizeable wage at least as part of his loan deal with Swindon, created enough space for five new players."
"Callum Cooke came on for an influential cameo from the bench, providing some forward momentum in a central midfield that had looked flat up to that point. Bowyer had been tracking the Peterborough man patiently throughout the transfer window – but only got the green light to make a move once Doyle had moved on."
Two things to take away here: The Mcburnie fee genuinely has gone towards covering the entire deficit. Any glimmer of hope that Rupp might give a fraction of it to Bowyer can be forgotten.
Our entire season depended on Doyle and Scannell leaving. You know those dreadful midfield options we had earlier this season: Anderson, Akpan, Devine, Ismail, Palmer, Gibson, Wood and Scannell, well that's what we'd have been left with if Doyle and #Scanz were still here. As it is, both of them fucked off and Bowyer had enough left over to go out and recruit an entire midfield- Cooke, Devitt, Connolly and Prtichard.
We got away with one there.

Can we all stop being grateful to Rupp for ‘funding us’ then. If the McBurnie money has covered the deficit then we’re back to Lawnesque self sufficiency and the only things we’ve gained from our association with Stefan Rupp are smaller attendances and a relegation.

And the last cash cow has been milked dry. There's no more nice little earners for us out there so we're on our own now until we produce a saleable asset. Come on Omari, you can do it.

That accolade is going to go to Paudie. He’ll become some superstar L2 defender that we are all wanking off that we’ll get a few million for him - only to discover that’s Beeston inserted a £1 buy back clause.

They’ve got the 25% of any profit clause but since they gave us him for free then it’s a straight twenty five percent of any sale. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve put in a buyback clause too. They’d have been daft not to since we’d have readily agreed to it for the freebie.

He might be curiously more willing to sell to the next suitor now. At the very least the ‘funding’ will have to stop.

It's not all over just yet. There's something potentially outstanding on the Wisdom deal (not Norman's media rights) which took Andre from Liverpool to Derby. There are some significant add-ons in the deal, probably linked to Derby being promoted, and we'll take our share of that from Liverpool. C'mon you Raaams .. as Stefan might say!

Couldn't agree more. I've said it often enough elsewhere ... there's little difference between the Rupp (with or without Rahic) business model and the previous Lawn & Rhodes version despite what many others seem to believe. And I'm still waiting for Companies House to provide any evidence at all that the current owner has put any more of his hard earned money into the club.
