Why not ring Wells up while we're at it, see if he fancies getting the band back together? We could get Parky back as the band manager, Will Atkinson on backing vocals and tambourine.

Deadly, Big Jim the target man.
An experienced league 2 player that we should build around is Shay McCartan, who scored at the weekend also.
McCartan and big Jim. Lethal.

No I fucking wouldn't take that donkey back.
Any "target man" needs to be equally as good using his feet and not just some useless lump of shite to hoof it to.

It is important to have physical strength and pace in the team. We have very little. So in that sense, I'd expect us to have a 6ft+ centre forward - probably a couple. But they can't be just lumps.
Look at the top 4 of League 2 right now. NONE of them have 6ft 4 shit houses who just win flick ons. That kind of football is dead. You need to be able to work the channels, have good movement, a bit of intelligence and link up play, a decent touch. The likes of Akinde, Maynard. FFS, MK Dons are 3rd and they play Agard up front on his own, and he's a fucking midget.
Ball and Doyle could probably work well in League 2 - IF they had a couple of wingers to open teams up and get decent balls into the box.
A Steady Keeper.
2 giant centre backs, a steady and experienced right footed right back (like Caddis, or even Mellor) and the same at left back. 2 wide players, at least one of which should be pacy and able to beat players. A gritty ball winner like Jim O'Brien and a more technical midfield partner - If Butterfield fancies some charity work next season he'd be dynamite. 2 Mobile forwards who can link and each chip in with ~15 goals a season. Preferably somewhere near 6ft tall.
Plenty of experience. A bit of snide and a couple of hard bastards. Most of the team 25+, most with League 2 experience, 3-4 players with proper pace. Get organised at set pieces.
Get that right and at the very least, you won't be getting your arse handed to you every week. If money allows proper quality, then invest it in proper attacking players FFS. The centre backs don't have to be Franz Fucking Beckenbauer.

Nobody has mentioned presence. Hanson offers that. Opposition managers don’t want him to play you know. Presence. You lot know less about football than Rahic. Local lad, loves the club, knows that it means to pull on the famous jersey, if he wasn’t a player he’d be on the terraces with the fans, he’s one of us. And he’s got presence.

Slow down. One step at a time. Imagine the selling point. Yes Andy, come to this club, defend corners well and in time you could be promoted to washing the hair gel out of Josh Wright's training gear. It'll be like a conveyor belt of talent coming to the club once word gets out.
