So, we’ve nailed our colours to the mast and gone public with the story on David Sharpe wanting to buy into City this summer.
So, there are several variables in play:
Rupps estimation on price is way overstated. He wants not only his money back but a ‘return on his investment’. That’s just fantasy.
So now the bargaining begins.
Factors that will drive price down:
Relegation and the drop in revenue that comes with it Very slow uptake on ST Sales The continuing cost of repairing the club and large contracts we’re lumbered with
One factor that may be in Rupps favour is the loss we’re set to make. Publicly, we agreed to cover the loss but has the money gone into the bank...?
If Rupp realises he’s not getting anything like what he wants I can see a sweet spot for both parties in going into admin now. Take the hit on not covering this seasons loss and take the points penalty cos we’re fucked anyway. Might help in binning off some of the heavy contracts and drive a cheaper selling price whilst avoiding Rupp having to throw good money after bad?

Rupp should do the decent thing and give the club to David Sharpe. Then we can all chip in and have a statue made of the rotund Rupp as recognition of his wonderful gesture. Make it out of lego or summat.

How can a man want 10 million for a club that owns zero? We have nothing of any value and that is Sharpes big card

The clinkers hanging off the end of our arse hairs will be hard to shake off due to their enormous wages. If we do manage to shift Riley, Wright etc we'll have to heavily subsidise their wage elsewhere which obviously puts pressure on next season's budget before we start. This all has to be factored in to any potential price that we're worth which is decreasing day by day.
Is almost worth Rupp going back to his silent partner role if the other party has full control of business affairs and knows what they're doing. He can leave it as a long term investment with the promise he'll be bought out fully when the tide has finally turned. Could be a 5 to 10 year wait for that.

As long as we only sell to people who have the club's best interests at heart and have the funds to make us competitive in the Championship.....................

Serious question, but why can't we attract a Dean Hoyle or Andy Pilley type owner/investor?
I often thought it was because Bradford is a shithole, but huddersfield and Fleetwood are just as bad. I mean for fuck sake even Barnsley get taken over by billionaire Chinese businessmen.
Why is it that the only ones we can attract are psychopath cunts like Edin and Gianni Paladini.

I remember Sharp in his stint as Wigan chairman and he struck me as a bit of a cunt.
If hes backed with Granpa’s cash then fine but i’d don’t want Edin 2.0
That would be the final nail in the coffin

Where’s this come from? Don’t see it at all. Rupp wants 10 million? He’s German not fucking retarded. We could still be in league 1 and would not be worth that.
Someone’s leading you up the garden path lads. Just doesn’t make sense does it? Someone worth hundreds of millions upset over losing 6 or 8 to the point they’ll risk losing even more during the time it takes to find a buyer because of a unrealistic price tag?
Someone’s mugging you off. Also who the fuck is David sharp

Quite obviously he's got no chance of getting that, but it's what he wants

They filmed The Railway Children in Oakworth, Rita, Sue and Bob Too in Buttershaw and something else somewhere, probably. You can’t compete with that.

How can a man want 10 million for a club that owns zero? We have nothing of any value and that is Sharpes big card The FL share guarantees the TV money next season, McBurnie’s sell on, the intangible assets, it’s not a lot but it’s something the club own. Rupp’s best bet of getting any money back is to give it away and add in clauses for promotion.
